Horseheads Hitmen sign three to summer roster

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) – The Horseheads Hitmen are making more roster moves in preparation of the summer season.

On Wednesday, the team announced the signing for three more players as they prepare for their second season in the New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL). The Hitmen will bring in outfielder Tom Bressmer from Hudson Valley Community College, right-handed pitcher Dylan Hocum and catcher Jackson Campbell.

Bressmer comes to Horseheads from HVCC, the same school that produced Horseheads product and Hitmen pitching coach, Jeremy Gulich. Bressmer was the league MVP of the PSAA and brings a wealth of power to the Hitmen.

Hocom, a native of Watsonville, California, adds depth and pitching precision from Skidmore College. And, catcher Jackson Campbell brings an international flare to the Hitmen from Australia.

Campbell’s experience behind the plate took him to the World Boys Tournament and playing for his state in two international tours. Jackson is a welcomed addition to the franchise who will begin play in June.

The Hitmen play their home games at the Horseheads Babe Ruth Field complex on East Mill Street. First-year head coach Eugene Barber, an Elmira Heights native and former coach with the Elmira Pioneers, will serve as the manager this summer.
