Horses and Ponies Gallop Along Dallas Highway

Several ponies and horses were spotted running alongside morning commuters on highway in Dallas, Texas, after getting loose from their trailer on Monday morning, September 30.

The owner of the animals was driving down Interstate 35E when his trailer door accidentally opened and 13 horses and ponies spilled onto the road around 7.30 am, according to local reports.

Dallas resident Juan Rosado was driving down Highway 183 near I-35E when he recorded a video of the animals galloping alongside cars on the highway.

With help from local residents and the Texas Department of Transportation, police from Irving, a city just northwest of Dallas, were able to corral 11 of the animals and return them to their owner; two were hit and killed in traffic.
