Columbiana Women’s Club plans its next Lunch & Learn event for noon July 24 at Harvey S. Firestone Recreational Park.

The event will feature noted horticulturist Keith Kaiser speaking on “The Gardens at Idabelle Firestone’s Gathering Place.”

Keith Kaiser, executive director of Pittsburgh Botanic Garden, is a consultant with the Restoration & Beautification Committee of Columbiana. Kaiser earned a bachelor’s degree in ornamental horticulture from Ohio State University, and an associate’s degree in nursery management from Ohio State University’s Agricultural Technical Institute.

Idabelle Firestone’s Gathering Place & Garden honors the mother, wife, composer, songwriter, philanthropist and avid gardener’s legacy with an amphitheater overlooking the Great Tree Lawn, a pavilion with classroom, heritage plantings and lilac stroll woven into The Legacy Trail in Harvey S. Firestone Recreational Park, the community park she and her husband deeded to the Village of Columbiana in 1935.

Kaiser’s talk will be at the Idabelle’s Gathering Place & Garden, with parking available in the swimming pool parking lot at Firestone Park.

Cost for the event is $20 per person and includes the program, tour, boxed lunch and historic memento. RSVPs required no later than Monday to maryann@magink.biz or 330-831-3491.

Note: Event time provided at time of RSVP.
