Hospital foundation announces $3.5 million campaign

Apr. 14—LENOIR — Caldwell Memorial Hospital Foundation announced the launch of the public community phase of a $3.5 million capital campaign. The Capstone Campaign will support UNC Health Caldwell's $33 million expansion to address four critical needs of the hospital.

A major focus of the expansion will be the new state-of-the-art AP and Bunch Anderson Heart Center to include a new heart catheterization lab — the Bill Johnson Procedure Suite and comfortable pre and post operation waiting areas for patients. Additional new areas will include: Blue Ridge Energy Cafeteria, Exela Inpatient Pharmacy and Broyhill Family Foundation Clinical Lab.

"We are so thankful for the continued support of the community to our Foundation, and to The Capstone Campaign," said Virginia Hoyle, Foundation executive director. "To date, we have raised just over $3 million toward our campaign goal. We invite all members of the community to provide whatever support they can to help us get to our $3.5 million capital campaign goal."

A 14-member Capstone Campaign Steering Committee is leading the campaign, co-chaired by Bob Floyd and Bill Johnson in memoriam. "On behalf of the Foundation Board of Directors, I want to thank Bob, members of the Campaign Steering Committee and the community leaders who have stepped forward with their support to help us raise over $3 million thus far."
