Video shared by mom Patience Clouse shows 15-month-old Mark Jr as he’s wheeled through a corridor lined with hospital staff.

Speaking to Storyful, Clouse said that Mark Jr was born with a congenital heart defect and was placed on the transplant list in July after going into heart failure last summer.

She added that Mark Jnr had his first open heart surgery at just six days old. “His surgeon did amazing, and I’m still in awe knowing that he performed such a major and life-saving surgery on a heart the size of our thumb,” she said.

Clouse added that Mark Jr has been doing really well post-surgery and is scheduled to be discharged on February 9. Credit: Patience Clouse via Storyful
