Hostess Dropped Red, White, And Blue Twinkies And Star-Spangled Ding Dongs For Summer

Summer is finally here, which means we're in for a few months of fruity cocktails, grilled food, and fireworks. And, yes, sometimes those fireworks end up showing up in our favorite foods, like those from Hostess. The brand recently released its line of summer treats which are all rocking red, white, and blue hues.

First up, we have Strawberry Donettes, which are made up of delicious strawberry glazed cake donuts. Not only is strawberry an iconic summer flavor, but because they're bright red, they'd also fit in perfectly on your Fourth of July table...or perhaps, a festive breakfast one? I dunno, get crazy!

Next up, we have Red, White, and Blue Twinkies, which look a lot like your typical Twinkies, but are speckled with red and blue sprinkles in the cake. The white is, obviously, the cream filling. We don't want to play favorites but...come on, look at these things!

We also see some spiffy-looking Star Spangled Ding Dongs, which is not only the funniest name ever, but look pretty scrumptious. Vanilla cake, vanilla icing, and cream filling make up this delicious treat that's then topped with red and blue sprinkles. Similarly, and finally, Star-Spangled Cupcakes are a thing, and they're made with yellow cake, cream filling, blue icing, and a red drizzle.

If you're looking to get your patriotic snack on, you can find these at various retailers, including Walmart, according to multiple Instagrammers. Of course these will likely stick around in stores through Fourth of July, if not Labor Day, but I think we all know that summer goes prettttyyy quickly. I certainly wouldn't want you to miss out on these...I care about you!
