Note to readers: Welcome to "Heat Week." This the sixth story in a seven-part series The News-Press and Naples Daily News are doing this week, taking a closer look at all things heat. Florida has been experiencing extreme and historic heat this summer, on land and in the water, and weather forecasters are predicting more intense temperatures as the summer continues.
Today's story focuses on the best hot weather photos from our archives through the years. From construction workers to high school athletes, coping with the extreme heat in Southwest Florida has always been a way of life here.

The customers will pay $1,000 each, which will all go to charity at Tiburón Golf Club at Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018. The contest brought $52,000 and Mark Wahlberg matched the amount to raise $104,000 for St. Jude Chidlren's Hospital.
