Hot enough for you? Here’s a list of NYC cooling centers that’ll be open as heat wave envelops the city

New York City is planning to open hundreds of cooling centers across the five boroughs beginning Thursday to provide refuge to New Yorkers looking for a way to beat the unhealthy high temperatures expected in the coming days.

Temperatures are expected to get into the 90s on the Thursday, and they could come with a heat index that makes those highs feel much hotter, possibly reaching 108 degrees.

City officials recommended Wednesday that New Yorkers visit NYC.gov/beattheheat for tips on how to stay cool. The city’s Office of Emergency Management also announced it would provide a listing of cooling centers through its “Cooling Center Finder.” Those can be found here: https://finder.nyc.gov/coolingcenters/locations?mView=map and include the following havens away from the heat:
