BEST BETS
Thursday
Loni: If you watched the '70s CBS show "WKRP In Cincinnati," you probably remember the secretary, Jennifer Marlowe, who was played by actress Loni Anderson. She also appeared in the films "Stroker Ace" and lent her voice to the animated film "All Dogs Go To Heaven."
Anderson also had a high-profile marriage to actor Burt Reynolds during the late '80s before the pair split in 1994. She'll be stopping by Oscar's Palm Springs on Thursday for a conversation followed by a Q&A.

Punk rock: Los Angeles punk band The Regrettes are a force to be reckoned with. They've written songs promoting female empowerment and feminism and aren't afraid to sing a love song. The group's 2019 album "How Do You Love?" received critical acclaim, and members were in the midst of a successful touring schedule in 2020 before COVID-19.
Now, the bandmates are on a mini-tour and are performing three dates in Southern California, one of which is Pappy and Harriet's on Thursday.
The Regrettes: 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Pappy and Harriet's Pioneertown Palace, 53-688 Pioneertown Road, Pioneertown. $15. (760) 228-2222. pappyandharriets.com
Saturday
Wrestling: Professional wrestling features over-the-top story lines and intense dramatics with stunning athleticism. It's been called "fake," and although it's predetermined, the action in the ring is real. World Wrestling Entertainment and All Elite Wrestling are televised productions, but there are many independent wrestling companies performing small shows across the United States.
One of those is Lucha Libre Mexicana, which is Mexican wrestling featuring personalities in colorful masks executing the same maneuvers seen on television. The stars of Lucha Libre Mexicana are scheduled for an event at Agua Caliente Casino in Cathedral City on Saturday.
Lucha Libre Mexicana: 7 p.m. Saturday, Agua Caliente Casino Cathedral City, 68-960 E. Palm Canyon Drive, Cathedral City. $10. 888-999-1995. aguacalientecasinos.com
Saturday
Metal: Local metal band Murkocet filled The Hood Bar and Pizza in 2017 during a release party for album "Digging Mercy's Grave." The group is returning to the same Palm Desert watering hole on Saturday for "A Murkcet Christmas."
Two additional local metal bands, When Tides Turn and In The Name Of The Dead, will also perform.
Murkocet: 8:30 p.m. Saturday, The Hood Bar and Pizza, 74-360 Highway 111, Palm Desert. Free. (760) 636-5220
