Comedy: Comedian Mike Epps is well known for the role of Day-Day Jones in the "Friday" franchise, but he's also appeared in films such as "The Hangover" and "The Hangover III," "Nina," "Dolemite Is My Name" and the Netflix show "The Upshaws."
The Indianapolis native got his break in the stand-up comedy world in 1995 after appearing on the "Def Comedy Jam" tour and appeared on two of its HBO broadcasts.
Epps will perform Saturday at Spotlight 29 Casino.

Latin: The East Los Angeles duo Tropa Magica take the Colombian genre of cumbia music and mix it with rock 'n' roll and punk rock to create a distinct sound. Tropica Magica has performed with bands such as Chicano Batman, Los Lobos and Los Tigres del Norte. They've also performed at festivals such as Desert Daze and Tropicalia.
Tropica Magica will perform Thursday at The Alibi Palm Springs with local rock band Slipping Into Darkness.

Americana: Singer-songwriter Jim Lauderdale has worked with some of the biggest names of country, bluegrass and rock such as Dr. Ralph Stanley, The Chicks, Elvis Costello and more. Ketch Secor of Old Crow Medicine Show describes Lauderdale as "my favorite part of Americana music." In 2021, Lauderdale released the album "Hope" featuring themes of courage, hope and perseverance during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Lauderdale will perform Friday at Pappy and Harriet's.

AC/DC: The AC/DC tribute band Bonfire bills itself as a "high-energy tribute" to the earlier years of the band and late vocalist Bon Scott. When Bonfire plays on Saturday at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, you can expect to hear hits from records such as "Dirty Deeds Done Cheap," "Let There Be Rock," "Powerage" and "Highway To Hell."
