Hot Springs, Rhode Island parade organizers reach truce on world’s shortest St. Patrick’s Day parade title

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Parade organizers in Hot Springs and Adamsville, Rhode Island, have reached an agreement on who has the world’s shortest St. Patrick’s Day parade.

Officials with Visit Hot Springs said the “feud” gained attention after organizers with the Annual World’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade responded to an article claiming that Adamsville, Rhode Island, would be holding its World’s Shortest St. Paddy’s Day Parade.

Officials said that Visit Hot Springs CEO Steve Arrison and Adamsville parade founder Charles Kinnane came to an agreement after days of “disputing.”

“We agreed that Adamsville does, in fact, have The World’s Shortest St. Paddy’s Day Parade and that Hot Springs does, in fact, have The World’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade,” Arrison said. “That settles the ‘dispute.’”

According to officials, the Annual World’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Hot Springs is 98 feet and the World’s Shortest St. Paddy’s Day Parade in Adamsville is 89 feet.

Kinnane responded in good spirits, saying, “We love all the good fun this has inspired, and our Grand Marshals actually mentioned that they could come as ambassadors of goodwill someday. Lots of love from our community to yours.”

Yellowstone star named as starter for World’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Hot Springs

The 21st Annual World’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade will kick off in Hot Springs Sunday, March 17. Parade officials announced that Yellowstone star Forrie J. Smith will fire the starter’s pistol. Former Dallas Cowboys running back Emmitt Smith was named as the celebrity grand marshal.
