The HOTBIN Mini Composter is the Chelsea Garden Product of the Year 2019 – here's why
The RHS Chelsea Garden Product of the Year 2019 has been revealed and it's the HOTBIN Mini Composter.
Perfect for a small garden, the HOTBIN Mini, which costs £150, is a slimline version of the full-size original. It is a hot composter and can hold up to 100 litres of waste, perfect for a household of one to two people.
3 features of the HOTBIN Mini Composter the Chelsea judges love:
• The HOTBIN Mini features a leachate collection system. Leachate is a liquid which is naturally produced during the hot composting process. This liquid is collected inside the composter and can be reused as a natural liquid fertiliser.
• The leachate is collected via a sloped internal base which channels the natural fertiliser towards the drainage cap.
• An improved lid seal helps to keep the lid closed. This stops any water infiltrating the composting process when it rains and doesn't allow heat to escape.

The original larger version of the product is available to order online, currently for £249. It holds 200 litres of waste and creates organic compost.
