Houma man accused of stabbing roommate

A Houma man was arrested after authorities said he stabbed his roommate during an argument.

Lloyd Jay Ross, 35, is charged with attempted second-degree murder, the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office said.

The charges resulted from an incident that occurred shortly after 3 a.m. Sunday at a Houma residence, the Sheriff's Office said. Deputies were called to investigate a disturbance at a home and found a man suffering from multiple stab wounds.

According to 1st Lt. Blake Tabor, the stabbing victim is expected to recover.

“Lloyd Ross and his roommate were involved in a verbal altercation in their shared residence,” 1st Lt. Blake Tabor said. “That led to the victim being stabbed several times by Ross. The victim was transported to an out-of-area hospital, where he had to undergo surgery. With that being said, he is in good health at this point. It’s not believed to be life-threatening but it did require him to undergo at least one surgery.”
