House on estate where ‘Godfather II’ was shot is for rent in Tahoe, but it’ll cost you

For hardcore fans of the epic “Godfather” trilogy, the words “Lake Tahoe” will send a chill down their spines because it is associated with the death of Fredo at the hand of his brother, Michael, the head of the Corleone family.

Now, a lucky person can rent a house on the estate where that famous scene — and others — were filmed. But it will cost a pretty penny per month.

“Delve into lake living and experience a piece of Hollywood history at a luxury rental nestled in the private community where ‘The Godfather Part II’ was filmed,” a news release from Sotheby’s International Realty said.

This exceptional property, located on Lake Tahoe’s west shore in the exclusive lakefront community of Fleur du Lac Estates, was recently brought to market by Sierra Sotheby’s International Realty agent Katherina Haug and her partner Craig Miller for $30,000 a month.”

The house for rent is one of 22 on the property where scenes from the iconic movie were filmed.

“It is a really special property with such a storied history,” Haug said in the release. “The homes are secluded and offer an incredible array of amenities situated on 15 beautiful acres on Lake Tahoe’s west shore. It is one of the area’s most esteemed and desirable communities. No other rental property has a private marina like this.”
