House of Representatives Adjourns as GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy Loses Sixth Vote

The US House of Representatives voted to adjourn for a second night without a speaker on Wednesday, January 4, after GOP leader Kevin McCarthy failed to secure enough support to be elected.
McCarthy has lost a total of six votes in two days, effectively paralyzing Congress.
