Housing authority awarded additional housing vouchers

Sep. 23—The Northwest Oregon Housing Authority will receive seven additional housing choice vouchers, U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden and U.S. Sen. Jeff Merkley announced Thursday.

The vouchers are part of a $2.5 million investment that provides 251 additional vouchers statewide.

Housing choice vouchers allow very low-income families to lease affordable privately-owned rental housing.

The housing authority administers vouchers and provides other critical housing assistance in Clatsop, Columbia and Tillamook counties.
