Houston Symphony music director delayed from re-entry to US

Andrés Orozco-Estrada won't be able to finish out the season due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, according to the company.

- Some unfortunate news regarding a Houston Symphony here. Due to COVID-related travel restrictions, music director and conductor Andrés Orozco-Estrada will not be able to return to Houston this month to close out the season. Houston Symphony executive director and CEO John Mangum says the company has tried everything they could to get Andrés back on the podium. But the outcome just is not what they expected. Estrada is currently at his home in Austria, where he has been for well over a year.
