The 2024 Golden Globe Awards will be hosted by stand-up comedian Jo Koy. You may recognise him from his appearances on Chelsea Handler’s E! show Chelsea Lately and from his various stand-up panel stints available on both Netflix and Comedy Central.

Speaking about his new job, Koy said he relished the opportunity to do his family proud: "I've stepped onto a lot of stages around the world in my career, but this one is going to be extra special. I'm so excited to be hosting the Golden Globes this year," he said in a statement.

"This is that moment where I get to make my Filipino family proud. Mahal Kita (Google it)!"

Last year, the 2023 Golden Globes was hosted by comedian Jerrod Carmichael while 2022 saw no ceremony held at all due to boycotts over a lack of diversity in its voter memberships.

In previous years, notable celebrity hosts have included Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh, Amy Poehler and Tina Fey and Ricky Gervais.

Bradley Cooper’s Leonard Bernstein biopic Maestro, courtroom drama Anatomy of a Fall and romantic drama Past Lives also received nominations although early rumblings could suggest that Paul Giamatti’s The Holdovers could emerge as a left-field favourite.
