For the first time in Bachelor history, 22 women contestants, ranging in age from 60 to 75, will look for love with Gerry Turner on The Golden Bachelor.
Turner, who turned 72 last month, was married to his high school sweetheart Toni and they had two daughters, Angie and Jenny. After 43 years together, Turner's wife passed away after a sudden illness in 2017. She had a bacterial infection that impacted her kidneys and her liver.
Now, with the support of his family, including granddaughters Charlee and Payton, Turner is ready to try to find love again.

Who is 'The Golden Bachelor' host?
The Golden Bachelor will be hosted by Canadian Bachelor alum and ex-football player Jesse Palmer, born in Toronto and raised in Ottawa's Nepean area.
Palmer was the first Bachelor participant from outside the U.S., in 2004.
Who is the Golden Bachelor, Gerry Turner?
Turner is a retired restaurateur, with a home on a lake in Indiana.
He plays pickleball, loves hosting barbecues, cheering for his Chicago sports teams, four-wheeling, and spending time with friends and family at local restaurants.

Speaking to Palmer in advance of the show's premiere, Turner opened up about the fact that this new relationship won't be the same love he had with his late wife, adding that he hopes to find a woman who will make him "whole again."
"But I don't think it will look like the relationship I had with Toni," Turner said.
Giving Palmer and the public some advice, as someone who had a successful and long relationship, Turner said each person should, "look at your spouse every day and tell them you love them."
"I would give anything to be able to do that one more time," he said.
