Howard school buses get cameras to catch drivers who illegally pass

Howard County Public School buses now have external cameras to catch drivers who illegally pass while students are getting on and off stopped buses. Beginning March 1, when in-person instruction is scheduled to start, the cameras will capture license plates of cars that illegally pass stopped buses with red lights flashing. From March to April 1, violators will receive a warning. Starting April 1, drivers who pass stopped buses must pay a $250 fine.
