‘Howard Stern Comes Again’ Debuts Atop Amazon Best-Seller List

Howard Stern’s new book “Howard Stern Comes Again” debuted at number one on the Amazon best-seller lists on Tuesday, taking the lead from an eclectic group of top titles that also included Michelle Obama’s “Becoming,” a box set of George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Fire and Ice” series and Dr. Seuss graduation day classic “Oh The Places You’ll Go!”

The book, Stern’s first in more than 20 years, was released by Simon & Schuster and its top placing on Amazon follows the radio host’s past success as an author. His earlier books, “Private Parts” and “Miss America,” were both bestsellers when they were released in 1993 and 1995 respectively.

Tuesday was the second time Stern’s book has graced the top of the Amazon mountain. In March, the book also briefly made an appearance at number one on the strength of pre-order sales alone after Stern first announced the project on his show.

In March, the DJ told listeners that he spent two years on the project and that he expected it to be the “capper” of his career.

“[It] is about my evolution. And this is about my interviews,” he said. “This is [how] it started out: I was gonna put out a book of my favorite interviews that I’ve done. Then I said, ‘I can’t just put out a book of interviews. I’ve got to comment on them and tell you why these were good.’ Then I said, ‘Well, now I have to talk about that we moved from SiriusXM. So I started talking about the process and I started talking about my life and some of the things that have happened.”

Over the last few days, Stern has been on a media tour promoting the book and has frequently waded into the thorny subject of one of his most frequent guests from the early 2000s — Donald Trump.

During an interview with “Good Morning America” Monday, Stern told interviewer George Stephanopoulos that he remained friendly with Trump even though he had supported Hillary Clinton in the election. He also chided journalists for taking his old interview with Trump out of context.

“I was quite surprised, when they dragged out every single Donald Trump … interview I had done. And in some ways, I felt it was unfair to Trump,” he said.
