Jan. 4—HAMBURG — Kevin McFarland scored eight of his game-high 21 points in the fourth quarter as Hamburg held off Schuylkill Haven 58-52 on Tuesday in non-league boys' basketball action.

McFarland made 11-of-16 free throws in the game, including 6-of-9 down the stretch. Xander Menapace added 14 points for the Hawks.

Travis Richie paced the Hurricanes with 20 points; Nigel Kuzanga netted 14.
