Aug. 5—The Republican Herald will profile one of the area's high school football teams entering this season each day between now and team scrimmages Aug. 20.

Today's team is:

Williams Valley

Head coach: Tim Savage (11th season)

2021 record: 9-3, District 11 Class A champion, PIAA qualifier

League/Division: Schuylkill/Colonial Blue

3 key players lost to graduation: FB/C/LB Jackson Yoder, WR/DE Hunter Wolfgang, OL/DL Owen Shoop

3 key returning players: Alex Achenbach (jr., RB/DB), Brady Evans (sr., WR/DB), Ezi Hite (sr., OL/DL)

Breakout candidates: Braiden Crisswell (soph., TE/DE), Jesse Koons (soph., OG/DE/LB), Kian Kryzakowski (soph., WR/DB)

Team strength: Depth and experience. Several four-year starters return on both sides of the ball. Several returning All-State players.

Biggest thing you need to work on during preseason camp: "Blending the few younger guys who will be playing plenty on both sides of the ball. Particularly our spacing in route running and linebacker pass coverage."

Williams Valley has a winning season if ...: "If every returning starter builds on their individual play and we are blessed with health, we are looking at a great season."
