HS Roundup: Emig, Border shine on Senior Night as River View drops Coshocton

WARSAW — Seniors Owen Emig and Brody Border made sure River View walked off the floor victorious on Senior Night.

Emig poured in 28 points, including a 9-of-10 effort at the free throw line, and Border added 25 markers, propelling the Black Bears past rival Coshocton 77-56 in Tuesday's Muskingum Valley League crossover at Luther Stover Gymnasium.

Preston Yoder added 10 points and eight boards for River View (8-13, 4-11), which turned a 13-10 first-quarter lead into a 27-17 halftime advantage. The lead grew to 50-35 after three.

Emig added six rebounds, Border grabbed three steals and Laired Williamson dished out three assists for the Black Bears, who made 26 of 57 field goals and 19 of 25 at the stripe and owned a 36-27 edge on the glass.

Colton Conkle tallied 25 points with four 3s to lead the Redskins (7-12, 4-11). He also had six rebounds, four steals and four assists, while Coby Moore added 10 points and Antwone Johns scored eight for Coshocton, which had 17 turnovers and was just 19 of 49 from the field.

River View reserves won 39-31.

Indian Valley 51, Ridgewood 17: The Generals (3-16) fell behind 18-7 after one quarter in an Inter-Valley Conference loss to the Braves.

Indian Valley was up 31-12 at the half and 46-15 after three, but no other information was available.

Girls Basketball

River View 24, Ridgewood 23: The Lady Bears (4-18) trailed 10-0 after one quarter and 13-2 at the half before rallying for a non-league win over the Generals (9-12) on Monday.

Ridgewood was up 18-6 going to the final quarter before River View completed the comeback.
