HS Roundup: Philo boys soccer continues unbeaten streak

DUNCAN FALLS — Host Philo continued its hot streak on Tuesday, as a 1-0 win over Sheridan extended its unbeaten streak to a school-record-tying seven games at the Philo Athletic Complex.

Trace Wilson found Andrew Van Meter for an early goal, while Hunter Wallace made five saves for the shutout, which was the fifth of the season for the Electrics, also tying a school mark.

John Glenn 12, New Lexington 0: The Muskies capped off a 9-0 MVL season with a rout of the Panthers, but no other information was available.

River View 14, West Muskingum 0: The Black Bears scored seven goals in each half in a rout of the Tornadoes, but no other information was available.

Tri-Valley 5, Coshocton 0: Lucas Cameron had one of the goals, as the host Scotties dominated play on Senior Night, but no other information was available.

Volleyball

Tri-Valley 21, 25, 19, 25, 16, New Lexington 25, 17, 25, 22, 14: Lexi Howe and Eva Dittmar combined for 30 kills and Howe also made 21 digs, as the visiting Scotties overcame a 2-1 deficit to edge the Panthers in a five-set clash.

Ingrid Dittmar set 35 assists, served six aces and hit four kills, Howe chipped in 17 kills, Eva Dittmar added 13 kills and 10 blocks, Annika Collet made five blocks and went 13-of-13 serving with an ace, and Kenzie Dickson also had four kills for Tri-Valley.

No leaders were available for New Lex.

Sheridan 25, 25, 25, West Muskingum 5, 10, 13: Alyssa Ward and Jamisyn Stinson had seven kills apiece and Reagan Davis made a team-best 10 digs, as the visiting Generals (16-4, 14-1) swept the Tornadoes in a MVL crossover.

Stinson was also 8-of-8 serving with four aces, nine digs and two blocks, Dylan Fox passed out 12 assists with 10-of-10 serving and three aces, Alexis Bradley chipped in 15 assists, five digs, three kills and 9-of-9 serving, Davis was 8-of-8 serving and Nora Saffell tallied six kills.

Rebecca Strunk had nine kills and two blocks, Liv Drabik passed out 15 assists and Gianna Ewert added six digs to lead the Tornadoes.

Sheridan reserves (17-3, 14-1) won 25-4, 25-6, as Josie Ramey had eight kills, Lily Talbot 19 assists, seven aces and five digs with 17-of-17 serving and Madison Hupp 10 digs and five kills with 5-of-5 serving.

Meadowbrook 25, 25, 25, Maysville 10, 11, 7: Megan DeVillez contributed 12 kills and Mylee Arnold made 11 digs, as the Colts (19-2, 15-0) swept the Panthers in crossover action.

Camden Black chipped in eight kills and 12 digs, Ella Jefferis had 30 assists and Taylor Sichina added eight kills for the winners.

Olivia McPeek tallied 10 assists, five digs, three blocks and two aces, Rachel Jarvis had four kills and three digs and Sailor Atkins added four kills and two blocks to lead Maysville.

Meadowbrook reserves won 25-9, 25-5. Chesney Carter had three digs and Dorothy Patterson hit two kills for Maysville.

River View 25, 25, 25, Crooksville 9, 7, 8: Alivia Spaulding and Haley Balo collected eight kills apiece, leading the Lady Bears (13-8, 8-7) past the Ceramics.

Kayla Dulgar finished with 18 assists, 11 digs, six kills and four aces, Cayla Shrimplin made eight digs with 100% serving, Brittany Henderson was also 100% serving with seven assists and Hope Mickle served three aces for the winners.

Taisia Riggs totaled seven assists and six digs and was 8-of-8 serving, Maelee Collins made nine digs, Khirra Wilson and Mylee Moorehead had three kills apiece and Alexia Van Meter went 4-for-4 serving with three digs for the Ceramics.

Crooksville reserves won 25-13, 28-30, 25-11, as Madison Rambo had seven kills, Kamdyn Hall made 23 digs with 11-of-11 serving, Morgan Stickdorn added 19 digs, Erica Flood chipped in 19 assists, 11 digs, three aces and three kills, Mylee Davis had five kills, four aces and three digs and Grace Myers added seven digs in the win. Shaelyn Yoder and Riah Fox had five points apiece for River View.

John Glenn 26, 16, 18, 25, 15, Morgan 24, 25, 25, 21, 6: Emma Dolan and Emma Briggs collected 13 kills apiece and Aleea Musselman collected 20 digs, as the Muskies outlasted the Raiders in league play.

Dolan also had 17 digs and two blocks, Briggs 20 digs and three aces and Musselman six kills. Kara Fields tallied 11 kills and five blocks, Hannah DeMattio added 10 kills and two blocks, Lauren Blair set up 51 assists with 12 digs, Graceann Hitchcock chipped in 14 digs, Sydney White collected seven digs and Sarah Wayne tallied 11 digs and two aces in the win.

Jensen Payton tallied 16 kills and six blocks and Evelyn Newton chipped in 15 kills, five digs and three blocks to pace the Raiders' attack. Chloe Baker passed out 40 assists with 13 digs and two aces, while Grace Pinkerton added six kills, seven digs and two aces, Odessa Smith five kills and four digs, Ashtyn Filkins 21 digs, Blair Clawson 16 digs and five kills, Montana Pettet 10 digs and Abigail Brown eight digs and two aces.

Morgan reserves (13-8, 10-6) won 25-13, 25-17 behind eight kills and two blocks by Haven Cook, four digs and four aces by Riley Cunningham, 15 assists and three aces from Paige Lanning, five digs from Myleigh Williams, six kills from Grayson Welsh and three digs and two kills by Klaire Cain.

Coshocton 25, 25, 25, Philo 12, 12, 6: Six Redskin (15-6, 10-5) seniors led the sweep of the Electrics (6-15) on Senior Night at The Wigwam.

Senior setter Jalynn West dished out 27 assists and added eight kills and two service aces, while senior outside hitter Lindsay Bryant pounded eight kills, served up five aces and had three blocks. Senior libero Miyah Davis led the defense with 10 digs; senior right side hitter Addy Gordon led the team with seven service aces and added five digs; senior middle hitter Jaiden Arnold added four kills; senior defensive specialist Olivia Lee picked up five digs; and sophomore Kenidi Jackson led all attackers with 11 kills.

No leaders were available for Philo.

It was a Red and Black sweep as the JV 'Skins prevailed with a 25-17, 25-20 victory. Sophia McFadden slammed 9 kills for the victors while Maggie Lapper added 6. Jaeli Tiedt had 12 assists and 4 kills for the 'Skins (7-13).

Girls Soccer

River View 5, Maysville 0: The Lady Bears built a 4-0 lead at the half and owned a 17-2 advantage in shots in topping the Panthers in MVL play.

Kylie Miller had two goals and Paige Stone and Alyssa Fox each had a goal and an assist to lead the winning effort.

Vincent Warren 3, Zanesville 1: The Lady Devils fell on the road to the Warriors, but no other information was available.

Heath 7, New Lexington 0: The Panthers were shut out by the Bulldogs, but no other information was available.
