HS Roundup: Stinson ties record in Sheridan's rout of Logan

LOGAN — Jamisyn Stinson delivered another record performance on Wednesday.

The Sheridan junior tied the school mark with nine 3s and poured in 34 points, as the Generals improved to 14-2 with a 51-23 rout of host Logan.

Stinson had 14 points with three 3s in the first quarter to put Sheridan up 16-4 through one quarter, and she made three more in the second as the advantage grew to 36-10 at the half. She hit two triples in the third, as Sheridan led 48-14, and tied the record with her final one in the fourth.

Nora Saffell had nine of her 11 points in the first half, while Halle Warner had four points and Payton Powell added a hoop to round out the scoring.

Tri-Valley 65, Philo 24: Mackenzie Harvey led five Scotties (13-3, 10-1) in double figures with 14 points in a Muskingum Valley League Big School win over the Electrics (6-9, 4-7).

Maddie Garber provided an early spark, collecting seven of her 12 points in the first quarter as Tri-Valley built a 15-3 advantage through one.

Harvey collected seven in the second and Karlee Rose and PD Moore hit 3s to extend the cushion to 32-9 at the half.

Rose, Moore and Lexi Howe chipped in 10 points apiece for the Scotties, who made six 3s and were up 57-20 after three quarters.

Caitlin Rose finished with 10 points and Olivia Dement added six to lead Philo.

Rosecrans 57, Crooksville 29: Alaina Berry poured in a career-high 24 points, and the Bishops (9-7) had a season-low five turnovers in a win over the Ceramics (2-14) at Rogge Gymnasium.

Berry had 13 in the first quarter to put Rosecrans ahead 19-5 after one, and a pair of Berry 3s, along with a triple by Ella Lambert, extended the advantage to 35-13 at the half.

Jenna McLaughlin had six of her 14 points in the third to push the lead to 49-18 through three. Emily Jenkins also had eight points and Lambert seven in the win.

Lexi Van Meter scored nine points, Kenzie Printz chipped in eight counters and Brynn Lundell added six to lead Crooksville.

Maysville 57, Cambridge 38: The host Panthers (4-11) built a 14-3 first-quarter lead and never looked back against the Bobcats.

Miley Fulkerson led the Panthers with 20 points and seven rebounds, while Taelyn Dickinson and Emily Lawson added 10 points and Jerzei Blackketter had nine points for Maysville was up 29-8 at the half.

Emma Krise had 16 points and Miranda Cole added 12 for Cambridge.

Tri-Valley sweeps Muskingum County League Meet: The Scottie girls scored 128 points to West Muskingum's 38, while the Tri-Valley boys had 76 to Cambridge's 62, as all the county teams competed at the Muskingum YMCA.

Sarah Jacoby, Dani Stewart, Mia Fuhriman and Gabby Hensel won the 200 medley (2:09.98), Abri Mallett, Hensel, Mia and Jesi Fuhriman were first in the 200 free (1:53.68), Mallett, Stewart, Jacoby and Jesi Fuhriman came in first in the 400 free (4:08), Mallett was first in the 200 free (2:14), Mia Fuhriman was first in the 50 free (26.67) and 100 breast (1:19.42), Jesi Fuhriman won the 100 fly (1:10.00), Emma Lewis took first in the 500 free (6:30), and Jacoby won the 100 back (1:09.88) for the Tri-Valley girls.

AJ Lawler took first in the 200 IM (2:12.04) and 100 fly (59.37) and Gabe Lentz, Jack Morehouse, Sam Wegner and Lawler won the 400 free (4:19) for the Scottie boys, Maysville's Tillman Hawk placed first in the boys 500 free (5:57) and Crooksville's Ryleigh Crooks won the girls 200 IM (2:28.76) and 100 free (59.74) to highlight other area winners.

Middle School Basketball

John Glenn eighth grade boys topped Morgan 42-30, as Cash Paisley had 22 points. Shuster led Morgan with 17 points. John Glenn seventh grade also won 51-33 behind 14 points by Quentin Yanosik. Morgan was led by Roberts with 12.

Sheridan eighth grade girls (11-1) defeated Meadowbrook (1-9), 52-12, as Hailey Mueller had 11 points and Reagan Robertson 10 for Sheridan. For Meadowbrook, Presley Valentine had 4. Sheridan seventh grade (9-2) defeated Meadowbrook (5-5), 44-14, as Nora Cooperrider scored 12 and Samantha Emmert 10. Alana McConray and Presley Valentine each had four points for Meadowbrook.
