HS TRACK AND FIELD: Delaware Valley boys, Montrose teams win LTC division championships

May 3—Peter Stanislavsky won the triple jump and the high jump with season-best efforts and won the long jump to lead Delaware Valley to an 82-68 win over North Pocono on Tuesday.

The Warriors won the Lackawanna Track Conference Division II championship. It is their second in program history and first since sharing the title with Wallenpaupack and North Pocono in 2017.

"We are very proud of this group," Delaware Valley coach Nick Quaglia said. "We have talked all season about how winning a dual meet takes a total team effort and how every point matters. If you are going to beat a talented team like North Pocono, you have to battle for every point."

Stanislavsky won the triple jump with a leap of 42 feet, one-half inch, and cleared 6-4 in the high jump. He also took first with a mark of 19-0 in the long jump.

His effort helped counter the 15 points North Pocono senior Colin Kravitz earned in his individual events. The Boston College commit won the 100, 200 and 400, as he has for the last two seasons, to lead the Trojans.

Aiden Horne added wins in the 1,600, 800 and 3,200.

But Delaware Valley won the 3,200 relay and the 400 relay and also received individual wins from Charlie McClain in the 110 hurdles and Justin Hernandez in the discus.

In Division IV, Montrose wrapped up the title with a 114-18 win over Blue Ridge.

Jesse Rogers won the 110 hurdles and the 300 hurdles to lead the Meteors, who won their ninth division championship since 2013.

At Elk Lake, Kendel Jones won the 1,600 and the 3,200, and Wyatt Johnson won the long and triple jumps to lead the Warriors past Susquehanna, 73-64.

Rykin Hobart won the shot, discus and high jump, and Memphis Collins won the 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles for Susquehanna.

Girls track

Montrose defeated Blue Ridge, 99-47, in a battle between undefeated teams to win its third straight Lackawanna Track Conference Division IV title.

Chloe Diaz won the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles; Stephanie Summerville won the 400 and 200; and Mia Snyder won the discus and javelin for the Lady Meteors.

Emma Button took first in the long and triple jumps for Blue Ridge.

At Elk Lake, Sydney Upright won the 400 and the triple jump and contributed to a pair of wins in the 400 relay and the 1,600 relay as the Lady Warriors defeated Susquehanna, 100-28.

Tatum Norris won the 100, long jump and high jump to account for 15 of Susquehanna's 28 points.

In Division II, Emily Franklin set a school record in the 3,200 and added wins in the 800 and 1,600 to lead North Pocono to an 88-62 win over Delaware Valley.

Kaitlyn Kravitz added wins in the 100, 200 and 400 for the Lady Trojans.

Emma Simmons won the 100 hurdles and the 300 hurdles, and Maddie Gecik won the shot and discus for Delaware Valley.
