HS TRACK: Mahanoy Area girls edge Nativity

Apr. 25—MAHANOY CITY — Kaylee Senglar, Alexis Chilinskas and Tabbatha Ward placed first in two events apiece, leading Mahanoy Area to a 70-69 Schuylkill League Division II girls' track and field victory over Nativity on Tuesday afternoon.

Senglar excelled at distance running, winning both the 800 run and 1,600 run; Chilinskas won the 100 hurdles and high jump; and Ward placed first in the javelin and 300 hurdles for the Golden Bears (3-3 D-II).

Sara Spolski turned in an outstanding performance for the Green Wave (4-2), placing first in the 100 dash, 200 dash, 400 dash and triple jump.

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN — Carter Daniel (800 meter, 1,600, 3,200, 1,600 relay) won four events as Schuylkill Haven defeated Panther Valley a Division II track and field meet.

Also for the Hurricanes (3-3 D-II), Luke Smith won the 110 meter hurdles, long jump and ran on the winning 1,600 meter relay squad.
