All of Pennsbury will be 'Playing for Joey...' and they hope you will too.

Maryland basketball's Ava Sciolla, a 2022 Pennsbury grad, is hosting a basketball clinic and fundraiser to benefit 2017 grad Joey Monaghan, who was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer.

Girls rugby is an increasingly popular sport, with a plenty of room for growth.

Doylestown has a flag rugby program with 300 kids. Head coach Stacy Mancuso, who played at Kutztown University and has coached the Doylestown Lady Dragons since 2004, believes recruiting girls to play rugby is more difficult compared to men. She said most girls love the sport and continue playing after their first season, but there is a stigma about girls playing contact sports.

Phil Picciotti will be spending his senior season at IMG Academy in Florida. Picciotti says the transfer will help prepare him for playing college football at Oklahama.
