The arrest comes after an incident on July 5. The release said that at approximately 3:18 a.m., emergency communications received a 911 call reporting that someone had been shot at Patriot Place Mobile Home Park on Hubert Boulevard.

According to the release, the investigation found Musgrove and McAlee had been in a physical altercation. The two men were separated, and McAlee then retrieved a gun from his truck and shot Musgrove.

The release also said McAlee had driven down from Alexandria, Virginia to confront Musgrove about an alleged relationship Musgrove had with McAlee's adult daughter.

McAlee is charged with an open count of murder and transported to the Onslow County Detention Center under no bond, the release stated. His first court appearance was today at 2 p.m.
