HUD partners with La Familia’s Counseling Center

The Department of Housing and Urban Development has made a vital new partnership in Sacramento. It’s designated La Familia Counseling Center as one of the many Envision Centers across the United States. They say it will help residents become more self-sufficient. “The whole focus was to bring the community together, whether it’s public or private partnerships. With the four pillars of leadership, economic empowerment, health and wellness, education advancement, think about the communities and the future fo the youth, what’s taking place in every community and the lack of in some areas,” said Chris Patterson with Housing and Urban Development. “So having a one-stop-shop where you can actually provide education, health and wellness, connections with federal agencies, business development, those are grassroots effects which every community wants to see,” Patterson said. La Familia has two sites and hopes to expand to a third.
