The Hudson Farmers Market announces that opening day of the 2022 season will be on June 4. Like last year, the market will take place on the Clocktower and Gazebo Greens and Church Street in the heart of Hudson from 9 am to 12:30 pm every Saturday from June 4 to Oct. 8.

According to market manager, J Hudson, “Face masks will not be required at the market, but of course, you may wear a mask if you’d like. We’ll still have hand sanitizer around and promoting social distancing.”

Hudson said. “Shoppers may bring their own bags to shop with this year. We will have music every Saturday, but we will not be having close person-to-person activities like the children’s tent. Throughout the season, we’ll have many of our special days that we weren’t able to have over the last two years. We’ll be having two Community Days, two Mini Maker Markets, our children’s day in early July, our pollinator day in August and our apple day in September. But for now, we’re focusing on supplying great local produce, meat, baked goods and food for our shoppers.”

There are several new seasonal vendors this year. Maple Dell Farm from Mantua is a family farm with an interesting variety of produce. Lang Classics is the market's first full-season pickle vendor. Heaven Scent Cut Flowers from Chagrin Falls will have cut flowers and bouquets from their farm at the market every week. Nomad Pie is a Hudson family that will be par-baking sourdough pizza crusts and selling them at the market as well as teaming with other vendors to create signature pizzas you can finish at home. There will also be a new hot food vendor - BrKFST King - making grab-and-go breakfast sandwiches, oatmeal, and fresh squeezed juices. Ellington Farm will be selling its beef from their farm in Portage County. Lastly, Henry’s Creamery will have their trailer parked on Church Street for the whole season.

The market will also have a number of rotating tent vendors with specialty items, sauces, bagels, sourdough bread, candles, cutting boards, soaps, and herbal tinctures. Watch the Facebook page for information on who will be showing up what weeks.

A longtime vendor, Bradwood Farm, is a hydroponic grower so they will have their produce from day one, huge heads of fresh lettuce and even strawberries on opening day. NEOPOPS is expanding their menu this year and will be selling pulled pork sandwiches that they make in their commercial kitchen and macaroni and cheese. The Pierogi Lady will be back selling both her frozen and hot pierogi.

New Hudson Farmers Market board president Sarah Brewer said she is excited to take the helm of the market after serving on the board for the last few years. “The Farmers Market is an institution in Hudson, and we love the people and energy that it brings to downtown in the summer. We hope that 2022 will be our best season ever and that you’ll be a part of it.”

The Hudson Farmers Market is a nonprofit born from a project of Leadership Hudson, a program sponsored by The Rotary Club of Hudson Clock Tower, and a collaboration between community leaders and civic-minded residents. Now in its 16th season, the market serves as an incubator to local entrepreneurs and an economic driver to downtown Hudson. With approximately 30 diverse vendors and small businesses filling up about 40 tents, the Hudson Farmers Market attracts over 20,000 people to downtown Hudson over the summer and autumn seasons.
