As beloved author Dr. Seuss cleverly states, “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.”

Right to Read Week in Hudson schools celebrates literacy and creates fun activities centered around reading and writing. This year, Hudson’s Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) will welcome authors Rob Buyea and Troy Cummings at its Right to Read celebration March 20-24.

The school-wide event is for pre-kindergarten through eighth graders and will include activities, challenges, writing exercises, literacy games, a video read aloud and book signing by the authors.

Rob Buyea is a fiction author best known for his Mr. Terupt series of novels. He was selected as an E.B. White Read-Aloud Honor Book and a CYBILS finalist and has been named to numerous state award lists.

Troy Cummings is the New York Times bestselling author and illustrator behind "Can I Be Your Dog?" and "The Notebook of Doom" series. He has written and illustrated more than 40 children’s books. His illustrations have appeared in newspapers, magazines, greeting cards, board games, jigsaw puzzles, a French opera and even on the back of a box of fish sticks.
