Hudson Senior Network establishes assistance and information phone number

Supported by a grant from Hudson Community Foundation, Hudson Senior Network has activated a dedicated phone number for local seniors needing assistance or information.

By calling the number 234-340-4891, seniors can leave a message for issues related to registration of senior events, and questions regarding current and upcoming lunch and learn programs and wellness classes. Responses are handled by a staff of volunteers from Hudson Senior Network, a local non-profit organization dedicated to supporting seniors and providing a wide range of activities and programs. Note that this phone number is not for medical emergencies. Those needing immediate medical help should call 911.

"I am delighted that we finally have one number to call for all of those questions related to registering for our events including scheduling," said Heidi Schweigheofer, co-chair of Hudson Senior Network. "I am grateful to HCF for their generous grant allowing us to purchase this phone."

A Hudson Senior Network Fund has been established at Hudson Community Foundation. To donate to this fund or other funds managed by HCF to enhance the quality of life in Hudson, visit www.myhcf.org or call the foundation office at 330-655-3580.

“Hudson’s population of active seniors has grown significantly in recent years, and it continues to grow steadily," said HCF President Amy Jordan. "Hudson Senior Network fills a vital need, and we are so proud to be supporting its mission to keep our 65 and older population healthy, connected, stimulated, and energized. It is so rewarding to see the roster of classes, lectures, trips, outings, and services being offered to our community by this outstanding organization of dedicated volunteers. The number of Hudson Senior Network programs has doubled over the past year. By having a dedicated phone number for seniors to call, the Network can remain easily accessible and responsive to those it serves."

Founded in 2000, Hudson Community Foundation’s mission is to enhance the overall quality of life in the Hudson area by increasing charitable giving, educating and connecting donors to community needs and leading on community issues. The foundation, supported by hundreds of local donors and Donor Advised Funds, operates from an office in the historic Baldwin House on Hudson’s village green and is governed by a volunteer board of directors.
