Huge custom, private home in east Montgomery's Beauvoir

A 3,000-square foot custom built home is for sale in private Beauvoir.

The community of spacious homes and large lots is smartly tucked between Bell Road, Interstate 85, and Woodmere. The gated entrances add to the appeal of Beauvoir, which enjoys limited pass-through traffic.

Beauvoir homes were built in the early 2000s through 2018, Realtor CJ Hodges said, adding that styles vary to include Georgian, European, French Provincial, Mediterranean, craftsman, Colonial and Cape Cod.

“Though the homes are stately and sit on large lots, the neighborhood seems very friendly and relaxed,” Hodges said. “You will see folks out walking dogs, and pushing strollers, visiting with neighbors in the yard, at the community lake, and on their front porches.”

The two-story home for sale at 6329 Philadelphia Hill in Beauvoir includes four bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms within 3,017 square feet of living space. The property is on the market for $449,900.

The location in east Montgomery puts residents five minutes from Auburn University Montgomery, The Shoppes at EastChase, Baptist East hospital, and popular Bell Road YMCA.

“Beauvoir is one of the few truly gated communities in the city. It has wide streets with sidewalks, gorgeous common areas, landscaping, and fountains,” Hodges said.  “If you have never driven through, you should during the day when the gates are mostly open to the public. It is one of the most beautiful and impressive neighborhoods in the city.”

“If someone built that exact same house today it would be at a cost of at least $225 per square foot, for a total price of close to $700,000, and that would not include the lot,” Hodges said.

The spacious design includes two fireplaces, two living areas, a bonus room, and a two-car garage accompanied by ample outside parking space.

“High ceilings and loads of windows give the inside an open airy feel, and of course there is the beautiful crown moulding, hardwood flooring and stylish lighting,” Hodges said.  “The house is a custom built, one-owner home with extras that are just not put into new construction anymore, like masonry fireplaces with marble and stone surrounds, arched windows, trey ceilings, custom closet systems with dressers and shoe cubbies, and a gorgeous deck that feels like you are sitting in a treehouse.”

The wooden deck extends out from the patio toward a tree line to create a perfect setting for relaxing or entertaining. The home was built in 2007.
