A powerful earthquake rocked Taiwan on the morning of Wednesday, April 3, causing damage to buildings and sparking a tsunami warning in southern Japan.a

Footage filmed by X user @Abalamindo shows items falling off shelves as the earthquake rattled New Taipei City.

Taiwan’s earthquake monitoring agency reported the event as a magnitude 7.2 while the US Geological Survey measured it at 7.4. The depth was approximately 35 kilometers (21 miles).

The Japan Meteorological Agency forecast a tsunami of up to 3 meters& (9.8 feet) for Okinawa.
