Huge Lines Form at Disney World for Dragon-Shaped Popcorn Bucket

People formed huge lines at Disney World in Orlando, Florida, on Friday, January 14, for a chance to score a bucket of popcorn made to the likeness of Figment, a purple dragon mascot for the Epcot theme park’s “Imagination” pavilion.

The limited-edition buckets, which were shaped like the dragon character and filled with rainbow-colored popcorn, were being sold for $25 during the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, which opened on Friday.

Visitors reported waiting in line for more than six hours on Friday, according to local media.

In the days that followed, some people who got their hands on the dragon-shaped bucket were trying to resell them online, putting price tags of up to $200 on the plastic containers.

Among those who missed out was James Patrick, who shot this video of an hours-long line wrapping around the pavilion near the World Showcase. Patrick tweeted that he had to leave the queue to go work, having estimated that he had “at least an hour left in line.” Credit: James Patrick via Storyful
