Huge South Florida job fair with thousands of spots open, as 80 companies look to hire

South Florida employers are slated to hire for some 6,000 positions at a job fair Thursday at FLA Live Arena, formerly the BB&T Center, in Sunrise.

The fair, produced by JobNewsUSA with sponsors — and potential employers — including Norwegian Cruise Lines, Cheeca Resort & Spa in Islamorada, Marriott International, Cano Health, Five Guys and American Express, among at least 80 companies on site.

JobNewsUSA General Manager Tiffany Price said the fair is looking to set a record number of hires.

“I’ve never seen anything like this for this location,” Price said, noting employers were coming from as far away as the Florida Keys and Lee County to hire from the Miami area.

“These companies need to hire,” she said.

She also said job seekers are having greater success landing the role of their choice, with some employers offering sign-on bonuses of as much as $1,000.

“People are getting back out there, now it’s a job-seekers market,” she said. “People are being picky, saying, ‘I just got this offer, now how can I beat it?’”

The fair is slated to kick off at 10 a.m. and will go until 2 p.m. Masks are required. Info at jobnewsusa.com.
