Hulu Orders 'The Other Black Girl' From Onyx Collective, Danielle Henderson And Rashida Jones To Series

The adaptation of Zakiya Dalila Harris’s The Other Black Girl has been officially set at Hulu, nabbing a series order.

The series announced series orders for this and Devil In the White City during their Television Critics Association press tour day on Thursday. Both are adaptations for novels and have been gestating for at the streamer after initially being announced for development.

The Other Black Girl is from Disney’s Onyx Collective and Devil in the White City is from ABC Signature in association with Paramount Television Studios.

Danielle Henderson is the showrunner of The Other Black Girl, which centers on Nella, “an editorial assistant, is tired of being the only black girl at her company, so she’s excited when Hazel is hired. But as Hazel’s star begins to rise, Nella spirals out and discovers something sinister is going on at the company.”

It is executive produced by Rashida Jones, Tara Duncan, Marty Bowen, and Wyck Godfrey for Temple Hill, Adam Fishbach, Zakiya Dalila Harris, Danielle Henderson

Sam Shaw is the writer and showrunner of Devil in the White City, which will star Keanu Reaves.

The logline: Based on the epic bestseller by Erik Larson, “Devil in the White City” tells the story of Daniel H. Burnham, a demanding but visionary architect who races to make his mark on history with the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair, and Dr. H. H. Holmes, America’s first modern serial killer and the man behind the notorious “Murder Castle” built in the Fair’s shadow.

Directed by Todd Field, the series exec produced by Reeves, Field Martin Scorsese, Rick Yorn, Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson (Appian Way), Stacey Sher, Sam Shaw and Mark Lafferty.
