Hulu vampire comedy 'What We Do in the Shadows' takes another bite of Wisconsin with prominent role for Milwaukee Tool

First it was a riff on Packers fans, now a Milwaukee company has landed a prominent place in the FX/Hulu vampire comedy "What We Do in the Shadows."

Milwaukee Tool's power and hand tools appear frequently in the episode "Go Flip Yourself," a spoof on home improvement shows that aired late last month, with more than a dozen product placements.

The kicker comes about 7 minutes into the show as the characters discuss plans to renovate the dilapidated vampire mansion on Staten Island, including the need to remove a tree that had fallen through a window.

Laszlo, a vampire played by Matt Berry, says he doesn't mind it.

"As you can see, I gave that a bit of a trim using the Milwaukee M18 Fuel Lithium-Ion chainsaw."

Turning to the camera, he delivers the company tag line, "Milwaukee, nothing but heavy duty," as the company's logo pops up at the top of the screen with the caption "Proud sponsor of Go Flip Yourself."

It's a stop, pause and rewind, "Did I just see that?" moment that got raves across social media and was the subject of a post on Product Placement Blog

Company officials were not immediately available for comment Friday morning.

The episode also included a name drop for Kohl's, mentioned by the home improvement contractor character, Bran Daltry, as a partner in the "Daltry Living Line" of home furnishings.

The episode's Wisconsin connections follow a season opener that briefly introduced a Wisconsin family, including a dad in a Green Bay Packers shirt, followed by a vampire mimicking the Wisconsin accent.
