Human remains identified as missing woman
A Baltimore family is grieving after police identified their relative as the person whose remains were found in a container outside a church. Versey Spell, 75, was reported missing in October 2022. Her remains were ultimately discovered three weeks ago in a container in the yard of a vacant church in the 3400 block of Garrison Boulevard. Police said the remains were taken to the Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy. The office ruled the remains to be human and the cause of death a homicide. One of Spell's daughters told 11 News she hopes whoever killed her mother is found.
