Hundreds of dogs find shelter with Lebanese farmer

This Lebanese farmer looks after 350 dogs

which get through around 350lbs of dry food a day

Location: al-Kfour, Lebanon

(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) DOGS SHELTER OWNER, HUSSEIN HAMZEH, SAYING: "This dog arrived to us with his ear bitten and he had worms. He had to have surgery to avoid Gangrene. This dog is very old, she is around 17 years old. You have this one who lost his eye. They all get treatment upon arrival."

Hamzeh found his passion when rescuing a stray dog 15 years ago

Now he runs a shelter, which he largely funds himself

"I did not get married nor have children but I feel they are my children. I now think: if I die, what would happen to them? How much they will be mistreated? I keep praying that people who are really kind will come their way, and that people would change their minds about dogs."
