Hundreds lose power as storm passes through the region
UPDATE: 2:37 P.M. ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — For hours, hundreds of AEP customers have been in the dark after rain and heavy winds on Tuesday.
The AEP outage maps show approximately 660 customers in Franklin County are still without power. The following areas are also still seeing outages:
Giles County: 26
Henry County: 72
Patrick County: 144

UPDATE: 11:31 A.M. ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — As rain and gusty winds continue, power outages are continuing to impact several AEP customers across the region.
According to the AEP outage map, most of the cases remain in Franklin County with about 1,377 customers in the dark. The following areas are also still experiencing outages:
Giles County: 26
Henry County: 156
Patrick County: 144
Roanoke County: 57
City of Roanoke: 48

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — As a storm system moves through the region, over 1,300 Appalachian Power (AEP) customers are in the dark on Tuesday morning. Gusty winds are blowing up to 60 mph through southwest and Central Virginia.
The AEP outage map shows the majority of outages are in Franklin County with approximately, 1,042 customers. Several surrounding areas are also without power including:
Campbell County: 144
Giles County: 300
Henry County: 143
Patrick County: 182
Roanoke County: 286
City of Roanoke: 106
Pinpoint Weather: Rain ends early, gusty winds Tuesday
Currently, it is not clear when power will be restored.
