Hungry for brunch? Here are some SouthCoast places to dig into this weekend

The answer is always "yes" when brunch is the question. If there was ever a perfect meal it would be brunch; the combination of breakfast and lunch, sweet and savory, all rolled into one delicious offering. It is also great for those who are not early birds to be able to enjoy their favorites, just at a more "reasonable" hour.

There is nothing better than sleeping in on Sunday after a late Saturday night and then heading out to brunch in the afternoon to get the classics like chicken waffles or a breakfast sandwich stuffed with eggs, meat, and cheese.

Sunday brunches filled with mimosas and bloody marys and eggs benedicts and waffles are all over the SouthCoast. We can't possibly name them all, but here are a few places to check out and enjoy:

The Pour Farm Tavern & Grille, New Bedford

The Pour Farm Tavern & Grille, 780 Purchase St., offers brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays. Enjoy the best of both meals with the classic chicken and waffles, a perfectly cooked Belgian waffle topped with buttermilk fried chicken, maple bourbon bacon crumble, honey butter, and maple syrup ($14); or Brunch Burger with a grilled angus beef burger, topped with a sunny-side egg, hash brown, cheddar and bacon served with home fries ($16). Finish the meal with a Manmosa which is an IPA with OJ ($8) or a Cuban Nightmare, Espolon Tequila, Kahlua, Baileys, and expresso served over ice ($11).

The next level:There are some big changes taking place at Boston Burrito, Lolly's Cafe and Country Whip.

Black Salt, Swansea

Brunch is being served from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays at Black Salt, 481 Wilbur Ave. Start your brunch off with the Hail Mary, a choice of vodka or tequila and San Mariano bloody mary mix, topped with a deviled egg, candied bacon, cocktail shrimp, and cornichons or a Sunrise Margarita with Milagro, Cointreau, agave, fresh lime, and caramelized pineapple puree. Try the Breakfast Poutine, fries topped with hollandaise sauce, chourico medallions, and cheese curds ($14), or for a vegan and gluten-free option Vegan Buttermilk Pancakes, topped with dairy-free whipped cream, fresh berries, and maple syrup ($12).

Duke's Bakery, Fall River

At Duke's Bakery, 1082 Davol St., gluten-free brunch is every day from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tues., through Sat.; and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sun. Try the Eggs Benny: house roll, two poached eggs, and two add-ons with a choice from multiple proteins and veggies served with home fries ($14.95), or Breakfast Taters: tater tots deep fried loaded with melted cheese and bacon bits ($9.95).

Yozakura Sushi, New Bedford

Want to try a traditional Japanese Breakfast? Yozakura Sushi, 466 Brock Ave., is plating it up from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays. Taste test the Traditional Japanese Breakfast which consists of salmon, rice, miso soup, and tamagoyaki ($14), or the Breakfast Board, a platter of eggs, brie, ham, croissant, jam, and home fries ($14).

19 Prime Tapas, Fall River

How does a pitcher of Mimosas sound? 19 Prime Tapas at 19 Jeremiah V Sullivan Dr., is slinging pitchers with its brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays. They have all the classic mimosas, bloody marys, and bellinis plus dessert martinis you could want with your meal. Take a bite of the Portuguese Steak with peppers and eggs served with home fries and toast, or the Avocado Toast with two slices of toast, guacamole, two eggs, and home fries.

Riverhouse, Taunton

What better way to enjoy brunch than with flights of adult hot cocoa or mimosas? Riverhouse, 260 W Water St., has both ready from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for its Sunday brunches. You get to try hot chocolates with hazelnut, peppermint, chocolate & orange, and coconut all served at once ($16), or try the mimosa flight where you choose 4 different juices ($18). For your dining pleasure, try out the Peanut Butter Jelly Time Burger, a burger topped with peanut butter, jelly, bacon, and American cheese, ($19), or French Toast Sticks, 6 deep-fried sticks rolled in cinnamon sugar with maple syrup, and fresh berries ($10).

BrewFish Bar and Eatery, Marion

Build your own bloody mary at BrewFish, 210 Spring St., from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sundays. Starting at $9, you pick your mix, alcohol, and your toppings for a perfect bloody mary. Then for eats, why not try the Lobster Benedict with two poached eggs, lobster, and hollandaise sauce on a Portuguese bolo with home fries ($20), or the Maple Cornbread Skillet, freshly baked cornbread with a maple drizzle and sweet butter ($9).

Carmines at Candleworks, New Bedford

Can't make up your mind on what to order? You don't have to with the brunch buffet at Carmines, 72 N Water St., from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays. The buffet has various breakfast, lunch and dessert options sure to please everyone; $24.99 for adults, and children under 12 are $12.99.

The Aviary Restaurant, Swansea

A Sunday escape to the Aviary, 2229 GAR Hwy., for brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. is sure to hit the spot. For a delicious treat order Huevos Rancheros, charred flour tortillas topped with refried black beans, two sunny-side up eggs, salsa fresca, avocado, and cilantro ($13); or a Veggie Omelet with broccoli, mushrooms, red peppers, and Swiss cheese served with toast and home fries ($12).

Get your brunch favorites at Towne House, 37 Purchase St., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays. You can get a refresher with a choice of 4 fruit flavors ($12) or a pitcher of sangria ($30) to start the day. The perfect companion would be the Town House Breakfast, fried and scrambled eggs, bacon, and chili oil served with breakfast potatoes and toast ($12); or Sweet Bread French Toast, Portuguese sweet loaf, vanilla butter, caramelized bananas, maple syrup and bacon ($15).
