Euphoria star Hunter Schafer called out a nightclub in Germany after they allegedly discriminated against her assistant

The actress went live on Instagram to her many followers after attempting to visit The Silq in Düsseldorf, only to have the security guard refuse to let her assistant, who is also trans, into the club.

“Uhh, said my friend could not come in because she is trans,” Schafer said in a recording of the live broadcast later shared to Twitter. “Don’t come to Silq. It’s not safe for transgender people.”

She is briefly interrupted by someone asking to take a picture with her, and explains the situation. The person sounds shocked at the transphobia as well, and said she would leave the club.

“Fuck Silq,” the actress concludes. “Internet, do what you do. Take them out.”

Since Schafer’s video, The Silq has been review bombed on Google. However, it appears to have previously had a number of low reviews to begin with from patrons who accused to club of racism from as recently as one month ago and as far back as at least three years.

The club did respond to Schafer’s criticism on Instagram, writing that the whole thing was a “misunderstanding” and that “this kind of thing has no place in our world and simply must not happen.”

They subsequently claimed that the security guard was “kicked out” after the incident and that Silq is an “LGBT friendly club.”

Most people didn’t buy the platitudes, with one user summing it up quite well: “It’s not a misunderstanding, this is transphobia.”
