Huntington ISD cancels classes as girls basketball team heads to state

HUNTINGTON, Texas (KETK) – Huntington ISD said that they are cancelling all classes on Thursday, Feb. 29 and Friday March. 1 so students, staff and parents can see their girls basketball team play at the UIL State Tournament in San Antonio.

On Saturday, the Huntington Devilettes beat Fairfield 41 to 42 in Waco, earning them a chance to play Columbus in their 3A semi-final game on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the Alamodome.

If the Devilettes win on Thursday they’ll have the chance to play in the 3A Championship on Saturday at 10 a.m.
