Huntsville man dies after wrecking in Limestone

Sep. 1—A Huntsville man died from injuries he received when his vehicle left the roadway, overturned and struck at tree Wednesday afternoon in Limestone County, according to state troopers.

Troopers said Michael Gene Preston, 43, was driving a 2012 Honda Accord along U.S. 72 near Sod Road, three miles west of Athens, before he was critically injured in the wreck and transported to Huntsville Hospital, where he later died. He was not wearing a seat belt, troopers said.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's highway patrol division continues to investigate.
