Hurley, Young to coach UConn men against Butler Sunday

Jan. 21—The UConn men's basketball team received a bit of good news Saturday afternoon.

The school announced that head coach Dan Hurley and associate head coach Kimani Young will return to their positions for the Huskies' game against Butler Sunday.

Both Hurley and Young had tested positive for COVID-19 and missed UConn's previous game at Seton Hall Wednesday. Neither coach made the trip to New Jersey with the team.

Each coach has completed his quarantine period and has been cleared to return to the sidelines.

With assistants Luke Murray and Tom Moore at the helm, the 15th-ranked Huskies saw a 14-point halftime lead evaporate as they fell to the Pirates 67-66 on a putback by KC Ndefo in the closing seconds Wednesday.

UConn enters Sunday's game with the Bulldogs on a three-game losing streak and having lost five of its last six games. The Huskies topped Butler 68-46 in Indianapolis Dec. 17 to open Big East play.

Tipoff Sunday is slated for noon and the game will be broadcast on WTIC-TV 61.
