Hurricane Earl Churns Over Atlantic Ocean

A hurricane in the Atlantic Ocean headed north-northeast toward Bermuda was also forecast to cause a life-threatening storm surge for the East Coast of the US, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) said.

Daniel Stern said he captured this timelapse footage as the NOAA Hurricane Hunters flew over the storm on Wednesday morning, September 7.

As of Thursday morning, Hurricane Earl was forecast to bring tropical storm conditions to Bermuda by the afternoon, and “significant swells and rip currents” to the eastern US later in the day.

Earl was forecast to become a major hurricane before it made landfall, according to the NHC. Credit: Daniel Stern via Storyful
