Hurricane Eta Downpours Bring Flooding to Honduras

Flooding was reported in Honduras as Hurricane Eta made landfall in nearby Nicaragua on November 3.

Hundreds of Hondurans were evacuated following heavy rainfall and flooding in the north of the country, local media reported.

The United States Embassy in Honduras warned that the Category 4 hurricane “may cause catastrophic flooding and landslides”.

The National Hurricane Center said there was a tropical storm warning in place for Honduras and warned of “catastrophic, life-threatening flash flooding and river flooding across portions of Central America.”
